What to Expect

First Visit Pediatric

We’re excited to welcome you to our dental family! A unique approach is used for every child. As we strive to make every visit a positive experience.

Dental care is an essential part of life. Not visiting the dentist can lead to problems like mouth pain, tooth decay, and gum disease. We help children build a positive attitude towards dental care through fun and friendly experiences, with a gentle approach.

Talk About Prevention

Visiting a pediatric dentist can be a scary experience for a young child, but we are here to help. We care for a child’s oral health, from infancy through young adult hood. We can address a variety of dental needs that may arise in your child, such as the need for preventative or emergency treatment. These treatments can include cavity fillings, teeth cleaning, and the application of sealants.

Examination

After meeting with the patient and parents, the dentist will perform a visual and oral exam to investigate any potential problems such as cavities and gum disease. The examination may also include the use of a tongue depressor and mirror to examine the teeth, gums, and tonsils. Your dentist may want to take X-rays. X-rays show decay between the teeth. That will also show if teeth are coming in the way they should. We will review your child’s medical history, and provide recommendations based on our findings as we offer tips for parents to promote healthy teeth and gums at home.
